Moyes Out ( Released )
Posted the same last year. Nothing has changed, except win don't win matches anymore.
I'm fed up, we can do much better

Gary Neville pointed out why Southgate can’t take the Manchester United job.

He won’t be free until July earliest which just isn’t workable for MU.

Thank Fuck this ends tomorrow, the last 6/8 months have been torture trying to watch or understand the shit he has been dishing up with the attacking talent at his disposal.

Thanks for a trophy, I will always be grateful for that, but should have gone then head held high. Since it has been an agonising shit show !!

All I will feel as a West Ham Fan tomorrow is relief !!!

No doubt Sir Jim wants nothing but good PR. That’s why he will look to go the English Manger route as his first appointment. Potter. Howe and The Waistcoat all being touted about. And when it goes pear shape. It’s one less monkey he has too worry about.

Re: Moyes Out ( Released )
Hopefully the last time I’ll feel inclined to post about Moyes pre match. He’s still here btw, so expect there will be comments about what he says before and after the game. The “he’s leaving so why are you still commenting” posts are a bit silly really. Maybe we should be asking Moyes to stop too as he’s leaving. Anyway, here he is;

"We can't finish lower than ninth which is a really good league position for West Ham in lots of ways”

Yes, lots of ways.

Southbank - You can spin it how you want but the people that trashed the strong rumours that he may stay at Bayern were ultimately proved right. You can't have it both ways.

I’m hoping Southgate goes to Man Utd
Makes Maguire captain & buys Kalvin Phillips & Jordan Henderson

Re: Moyes Out ( Released )
Manuel - really don't see the problem: I said a couple of weeks ago there were strong rumours Bayern/Tuchel were talking about him staying. Then that there were talks at the club. It was long after Tuchel first announced he was leaving.

Turns out there were talks about him staying: as everybody has now confirmed. Obviously, he's decided to leave anyway.

I didn't have the foggiest how the talks would pan out: wasn't sat in the room with them.

Bayern not giving him promises about transfers is a bit of a surprise (given they know they have to close the gap on Leverkusen), and might be a slight hindrance to other potential managers. Although it is Bayern - they will land a decent name anyway.

Personally, I think he'd do a decent job at Man Utd. Unfortunately, as I hate them. So I'm hoping he doesn't go there.

Given Tuchel has admitted there were talks about him staying he was right
Just turns out he decided not to after negotiations

Just thought it was funny that Southbank was giving it large, reminding us all of what he said a few weeks ago and thought he might have been onto something, but as it turns out he wrongly believed what he read in the press, which is very ironic.

Re: Moyes Out ( Released )
Supposedly Tuchel wanted guarantees on a couple of signings to stay at Bayern
Also that he wants to be available if Manchester Utd call
Presume he will be supporting Man City in the FA Cup final hoping they smash Man U 6-0

Today...''Manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed he will leave Bayern Munich this summer despite holding talks about a potential U-turn to stay.''

Believe the 1978 World Cup was SO bad that Ally Macleod changed his name to Allie MacClaud afterwards

He was asked before Scotland set off 'What do you plan to do after the World Cup?' and he said 'RETAIN IT'

Got a soft spot for Scotland ever since the 1978 World Cup, Allie MacClaud and Archie Gemmill. They don’t deserve Moyes.

Scotland job would be ideal for Moyes.

Limited resources. Relying on a few stalwarts. Plucky losers. Low expectation. No transfers to manage. Achieving above expectation will be greeted with a statue.

About his level.

Re: Moyes Out ( Released )
Have always said international manager is a part time job for a manager later in his career and Scotland would be ideal for Moyes if Clarke goes into club management

Always wonder what Southgate does in the period after England's usual routine qualification
A couple of friendlies and free tickets to the best Premier league games with a nice lunch laid on
He probably knew 23 of his 26 man squad 6 months ago so not busy at all

No idea what he will decide to do. But unless Man Utd come in for him - which is a decent chance - then I can see him staying in Munich as an option. He's asking Bayern's board to back him with extra transfers. They'll find the money, of course.

I mention this only because of that mad rumour about Lopetegui being on Bayern's shortlist. Hence the tenuous link to our lot.

Re: Moyes Out ( Released )
I agree on some levels - Moyes could probably do a decent job as Scotland's manager. He'll have them organised (as Clarke has) and will be comfortable managing an international side that will not be expecting to have much of the ball in games against 'bigger' sides. So his counter-attacking style will suit a team that will be underdogs against many teams.

His problem will be creating a decent and positive environment for the players to go to when they join up with the national side. As we know from his time at West Ham, he can be notoriously critical of his club players - Griff wrote some incisive posts about this last season - and relentlessly focused on weaknesses.

Squad players will not like turning up to a Moyes camp, getting trashed with negative, dour analysis all day, not playing, and then going back to their clubs. International football is prestigious, but voluntary. I could see some players not wanting to join up with Moyes after a few negative experiences. So he'd need to calm that down.

Footballers are a little more delicate these days, and often very wealthy. Marginal national squad players might think 'fuck him, he's not worth playing for'.

One of the things Southgate has got right with England, generally, is creating a supportive environment for modern snowflakes.

Moyes next job . Will be the Scottish job . Steve Clarke is to good a manager to be confined to that . Moyes will do a great job for them. Way better suited to international football.

Wherever he ends up they are getting a stalwart manager used to winning that makes his teams hard to beat & watch......
